  শীবা বাশফোঁড় একজন বাঙালি ছাত্র। তার বৈদেশিক শিক্ষার স্বপ্ন চীনে একটি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ভর্তি হওয়া। তবে এই স্বপ্নটি প্রাপ্ত করতে শিভার পথে অনেক সংগ্রাম এবং কঠোর পরিশ্রম ছিল। শিভার সম্প্রতি কালের বাংলাদেশের শিক্ষামূলক পরিবেশ তাকে চীনে ভর্তি হতে সাহায্য করবেনি। তার জন্য প্রথমেই শিভাকে চীনা ভাষা শিখতে হলো। তিনি মেধার পরীক্ষায় অংশ নেওয়ার জন্য কোচিং কেন্দ্রে যান। এটি শুরুতেই কঠিন ছিল, কারণ চীনা ভাষার সাথে অপরিচিত হতে হয়। শিভার দিকের এই চ্যালেঞ্জের মধ্যেই অভিনব পরিমাণ সম্মতি এবং ধৈর্য ছিল। তিনি বেশ কঠিন পরিশ্রম এবং নির্দিষ্ট লক্ষ্য সাথে চীনা ভাষার মাধ্যমে তার পরীক্ষাগুলি উত্তীর্ণ করতে সক্ষম হয়ে উঠলেন। শিভা চীনা ভাষার অত্যধিক দক্ষ হওয়ার পর চীনে যুক্তিসহ বিজ্ঞান অধ্যয়নের জন্য প্রথম ধাপ নেন। তার চিন্তা ছিল, বিজ্ঞানের মাধ্যমে তিনি তার ক্ষুদ্রতম অঙ্গীকারকক্ষগুলি পূরণ করতে পারবেন এবং তার প্রয়াসে তার দেশের উন্নতির কাঙ্খিত উদ্দেশ্যগুলি সম্পন্ন করতে সাহায্য করবেন। তবে বিজ্ঞান অধ্যয়ন করার জন্য ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ ব্যয় ছিল। শিভা হিসাবের সাথে সামঞ্জস্য রেখেই স্বপ্নটি পূরণের জন্য অপরিমিত পরিশ্রম করল...
