How to Turn Off Windows 10 Automatic Updates

To turn off automatic updates in Windows 10, you can follow these steps:

Open the "Settings" app. You can do this by clicking on the "Start" button in the taskbar and selecting the gear icon from the Start menu, or you can press the Windows key + I on your keyboard.

In the "Settings" window, click on "Update & Security."

Select the "Windows Update" tab on the left-hand side of the screen.

Click on the "Change active hours" link. This allows you to specify a time range during which your computer is typically in use and avoids interruptions during those hours.

In the "Change active hours" window, turn on the toggle switch under "Active hours." This will prevent your computer from automatically restarting for updates during the specified active hours.

If you want to completely disable automatic updates, go back to the "Windows Update" tab and click on "Advanced options."

In the "Advanced options" window, click on the "Pause updates" toggle switch to temporarily pause automatic updates. This will prevent updates from being installed for a certain period of time, usually up to 35 days.

Note: It's generally recommended to keep your operating system up to date for security and stability reasons. However, if you decide to turn off automatic updates, make sure to regularly check for updates manually and install them to ensure your system is protected.
